Snaps for Your Weaknesses

“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9&10

Hey friends! Erin here. I understand this is kind of a weird snaps topic. It’s one I’ve thought of for a long time but avoided putting on here because it is so weird and…well…personal. This past month has made we want to open this topic up though. It has been cuh-ra-zy busy and stressful ’round here lately and I’ve just been left exhausted and overwhelmed. But if there’s one thing I tend to learn over and over again when I’m overwhelmed it’s that when I am at my weakest, Christ shines through me the most.

So, we want to give you a chance to share about this to. How does Christ work through your weaknesses? What are those things in your life that could hold you back, but that Jesus chooses to use?

We want to let you know that we love all of you and are so, so thankful to be doing what we’re doing!

Snaps for your Country (again)

A few weeks ago we had snaps for your country. No one, including us at Rediscovered, left any snaps. So we’re bringing it back out. Regardless of how you feel about the government, the laws & the politics, why are you thankful for your country? What do you think God has placed you here to do? Leave your snaps here or on facebook.

Snaps for Random Strangers

Your mail man, the barista at Starbucks, that awesome guy who let you over in traffic today. Sometimes people that you don’t even know can brighten your day. Who’s that random stranger for you? Leave a snap here or on the facebook page! Here’s hoping these snaps can start our week off right and chase away those Monday blues!

Snaps for your Country

“And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.” – Jeremiah 29:7

We complain a lot about the government and laws and politicians, but have you ever really considered that God has put you where you are for a reason? Today, we’re going to be leaving snaps for our country. For most of us on this blog, that’s the good old U.S. of A! What’s snap-worthy about America? Why do you love it here? If you’re not from, or currently in, the U.S. right now, what do you love about the country where you are?

Snaps For Your Home

My husband and I (Erin) have been apartment hunting the past few weeks. As I’ve read reviews on some of the complexes we’re looking at, I’ve realized just how negative we can be about where we live — totally ignoring the awesome stuff to nit pick about the noisy neighbors, the color carpet, and the closet space. I, for one, have been known to complain, but when I think about how many worse living situations there are around the world, I am truly thankful. Why is your house, apartment or dorm awesome? Why are you thankful to live where you do right now? Leave a snap below or on the facebook page!

Snaps for Community

I heard Tim Keller say the other day in the Gospel in Life study that just coming to and sitting in a church service isn’t community; it’s just being a part of a crowd. True community is having a group of people around us to share life with us, encourage us, and challenge us. Do you have a small group, a Sunday school class, or an awesome group of friends that you would consider your community? Leave a snap for them below or on the facebook page.

Happy beginning of a new week and a new month!

Snaps for Siblings

Happy new week to all! Today we’re leaving snaps for our siblings. Siblings are usually some of  our first friends, and growing up with them teaches us how to relate with other people. Why is your brother or sister the best there is? Comment below or on the facebook page!

– Erin & Whitney

P.S. If you don’t have any siblings, those might-as-well-be-my-sister relationships are definitely acceptable too!
