Heart & Soul

What we believe …

We feel that it is our responsibility to share the truth we have learned from our personal experiences, the wisdom of others, and most importantly, from God’s word. We want to speak out in truth on issues the church may have previously been silent about. God wants us to know the truth in all areas, and we want this to be a safe place for girls and women to discover truth and relate to others in similar situations.

First and foremost, we believe in the God of the Bible. One God in three forms: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. None other. (Exodus 20:3)

We believe God is real, and that He is the Creator of everything, including us, who were created in His image. (John 1:3)

We believe God loves us, created us for a special purpose, and wants to have a relationship with us. (Ephesians 2:10, John 17:24)

We believe God is perfect, and perfection is His standard. (Matthew 5:48)

Unfortunately, we all fall short of that standard. Our imperfection, or sin, separates us from a relationship with God. (Romans 3:23, Isaiah 59:2)

We believe we can never do enough good to make ourselves better, and no good deed can cover up our sin. (Isaiah 64:6)

We believe God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world. Jesus was perfect, but He became our weakness, sin and imperfection and paid the price of a brutal death on a cross to forever satisfy our debt to a holy God. (Isaiah 53:6)

We believe that because Jesus became our sin, we can now take on His righteousness, His perfection. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

We believe If we confess our sins and shortcomings, turning (in our imperfections) from those sins, and trust in Him, we will be forgiven, and our relationship with God will be restored. (1 John 1:9, Romans 8:15-16)

We believe when our relationship to God is restored, the Holy Spirit will work in us, and give us everything we need to live a life that is pleasing to God. (John 14:26, 2 Peter 1:3, James 1:22-25)

We believe women and men are equal in God’s sight. (Galatians 3:28)

We believe because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we are the adopted children of God. (Romans 8:12-17, Galatians 3:29)

We believe that God desires for us to know truth, and gain wisdom and knowledge and that these are the only things that can set us free from the lies that we, our culture and the media tell us. (John 8:31-32, Proverbs 4:5)

We believe that if we accept Jesus’ sacrifice and confess our imperfections and shortcomings, we will live with Him eternally in heaven.  (John 3:16-17)
