Finds of the Month — March

MARCH FINDSArticles

As someone who grew up in, and now works at a megachurch, I found “She’s Not a Megachurch, She’s my Sister” by Shauna Niequist extremely refreshing. All churches, big and small, are made up of human beings, which is what makes them so amazing, flawed and complex. — Erin

This could not possibly be more accurate: Inside a Woman’s Mind at Target. Erin

This is an informative and honest article about the struggles to keep a quiet time. It is geared towards college students but I found the tips to be helpful for me. I especially found helpful the idea to read a faith-based book before bed instead of watching TV. How to keep your faith in college. Melissa

Books

This past month I read, Your Future ‘Other Half’ It Matters Whom You Marry, by Rebecca Vandoodewaard. This book is an excellent resource for the single girl who is thinking about a future relationship, the girl in a serious relationship who wonders if this is the ‘right’ guy, or the girl who is engaged and looking towards a lifelong marriage relationship with her soon-to-be husband. I would definitely recommend this book. It is a short, easy read and worth your time! — Rachel

I also read Creature of the Word: The Jesus-Centered Church by Matt Chandler, Eric Geiger and Josh Patterson. If you liked the Explicit Gospel, check this out. Especially useful for those in church leadership!

Rachel

My small group at church is reading The Prodigal God by Tim Keller and doing the group study right now. It’s so simple, but so profound. Really takes you back to the basics of the Gospel. — Erin

The past few months, as I’ve written for this blog and taught Bible Studies, this verse has been my prayer.

“Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the One who sent him speaks truth, not lies.” John 7:18  — Erin

Beauty & Buys

Burts Bees Hand Salve and Hand Repair Creme — I tried a sample of both of these products a few weeks ago and had to buy them! If you struggle with dry skin or work with your hands a lot these cremes make your skin extra soft! — Rachel

Albolene — The perfect make-up remover! I have always hated how hard it is to wipe off waterproof mascara. Well this completely takes it off as well as all remnants of foundation. It comes in a big jar and you can buy it at any drugstore. The only downside is that it does make your skin feel a little oily after. But you can always wash your face after use. — Rachel

Freebies

My friend posted this on Facebook the other day. Let’s just say it blessed me. — Erin
